Trending car news Honda launched its entry level hatchback Brio in 2011, but failed to capture hearts as expected with this model. Brio that underwent a facelift in 2016, still continued to disappoint the company with dull sales volumes. Apparently, Honda has officially decided to wrap up production of this little city car in India.

With this decision, the entry level car from the brand ahead will be Honda Amaze that is also one of the best selling cars from their lineup. It is indeed sad that Brio had managed to sell only less than one lakh units in the country since its launch 8 years ago. This hatchback started with decent sales figures but gradually declined to as many as 100 cars a month last year that made the Japanese car maker pull the wraps on this particular model.

Honda Brio was powered by a 1.2L SOHC i-VTEC petrol engine that delivered 88bhp worth power and 109Nm of peak torque. It was available in both five speed manual and automatic options. Priced in the range of Rs.4.73 lakh and Rs.6.81 lakh, this urban car competed with Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai Grand i10 and its likes but went into decline owing to poor sales volumes. Honda Brio was launched in a new avatar last year in Indonesia, but the company seems to have announced their decision to not launch the same in India.

The car is powered by a 2.0L Ingenium Diesel motor that fires 180bhp and 430Nm mated to a nine speed automatic transmission unit. Unfortunately, the powerful motor available in the Discovery lineup that produces 240 horses is not available in this Landmark edition. However, this model claims a top speed of 188kmph and jolts from 0-100kmph in 9.9 seconds.

2019 Discovery Sport Landmark Edition is priced at Rs.53.77 lakh between the Sport(Rs.52.47 lakh) and HSE model(Rs.55.81 lakh). The Discovery range of cars is being priced from Rs.44.68 lakh to Rs.61.27 lakh (All Ex-showroom Prices).
