Trending car news 2018 Maruti Suzuki Swift received a new Special edition to its lineup as part of the upcoming festive season. This limited version is priced at Rs.4.99 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi) and comes with few added features.

Available only in the base variants Swift LXi and LDi on the 1.2L petrol and 1.3L diesel trims respectively, the new edition gets the same price tag as the outgoing model. However, no AMT option will be offered on the special edition. Recently, the company had launched the festive season special edition for its best seller Ignis as well.

Special Edition Swift gets body coloured Outside Rear View Mirrors and door handles while wheel caps appear painted in black. Other features include Single DIN musical system with two speakers at the front, dual airbags and power windows at the front, rear parking sensors and ABS.

The 1.2L petrol and 1.3L diesel engines produce 82bhp and 74bhp respectively while being mated to a 5-speed manual transmission box. 2018 Swift, launched in February this year, along with this special edition now will continue to compete against Hyundai Grand i10, Ford Figo, Mahindra KUV 100 and others from the segment.

Ever since its launch in 2005, Swift had managed to stay at the top of best-selling hatchbacks in India. Recently the company celebrated their achievement of two million sales for this particular model.

Trending car news Skoda Rapid Onyx gets gloss black enhancements that complement well with both Lapiz Blue and Candy White paint, the two shades that the car is offered in. The butterfly grille, 16-inch alloy wheel, outside rear view mirrors, B-pillars, projector headlamps, side beadings and trunk lip garnish are all provide with the gloss black treatment adding richness to the sedan.

Skoda Rapid Onyx edition is powered by the same 1.6L petrol and 1.5L diesel engine in both trims. 1.6L MPi petrol engine is available in both 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic options. The engine produces 104bhp and 153Nm of torque while the 1.5 TDi diesel engine makes 109bhp and 250Nm worth torque. The diesel trim too comes available in 5-speed manual and 7-speed DSG automatic options.

Skoda Rapid Onyx competes with Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna and Honda City like its existing version.
