Trending car news At Rs 6.99 lakhs the limited edition car is the most affordable Sedan from Skoda. The new Skoda Rapid car is available only with the 1.6L Petrol engine and manual transmission.

The 1.6-litre petrol engine with multi-point injection and 16 valves dual overhead camshaft churns out 105 PS (77kW) power and 153Nm peak torque. The fuel efficiency of this low-budget sedan is 15.41kmpl.

Skoda Rapid Rider is available in two colours - Candy White and Carbon Steel. The black design elements enhance the bold and dynamic appearance of the Skoda Rapid Rider. The black facade of the Skoda signature grille, black side foils, glossy black decor on the B pillars, and black trunk lip garnish accentuates the exterior.

Ivory slate upholstery and scuff plates with RAPID inscription complement the Plush dual-tone ebony sand interiors very well.

In the safety and security department, the newbie offers dual airbags, anti-lock braking system, engine immobilizer with floating code system, rear windscreen defogger with timer, height-adjustable three-point seatbelts at the front, rough road package, and Parktronic rear parking sensors.

Skoda claims to offer 6 years of hassle-free ownership experience and absolute peace-of-mind with its Shield Plus scheme. It incorporates motor insurance, 24 x 7 roadside assistance, and an extended warranty.

The entry-level Skoda Rapid Rider is a strategic move from Skoda Auto, the Czech automobile manufacturer owned by the German Volkswagen Group. It takes a shot at being 'the best family car' in India.

Skoda Rapid comes with a variety of variants. A 1.6L engine powers the petrol-fueled variants whereas a 1.5L engine powers the diesel variants.

Skoda offers attractive discountsfor its mid-range Rapid models, Skoda Kodiaq - a mid-size crossover SUV (J-segment), and Skoda Superb Sportline - a compact executive car.

Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, Ford Aspire, Honda Amaze, Tata Tigor, and Hyundai Xcent are the rivals for the new Skoda Rapid Rider.

Trending car news The model comes with unique features like all limited editions. One of the main highlights on the new Mahindra Thar 700 is that it is available only in two colour schemes, Napoli black and Aqua Marine. The car gets five-spoke, 15-inch alloy wheels as seen on old Scorpio. In the special package, the Thar's signature edition gets black sporty decals on its bonnet lid while a silver finish enhances the front bumper. A special signature edition badge on the Thar 700's right fender holds the signature of Anand Mahindra, Chairman, Mahindra Group and this reveals how special this edition is to Mahindra.

Inside the cabin, the new model gets leatherette covers with special edition badge for the seats. Mahindra Thar 700 is powered by the same 2.5-litre CRDe engine that produces 105 bhp and 247 Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Thar 700 costs Rs.50,000 more than the outgoing Thar CRDe that is priced at Rs.9.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The new Thar 700 will not come with a driver airbag, a passenger seat-belt reminder or rear parking sensors; however, will feature the mandatory safety feature ABS. The missing features indicate that Mahindra has clear plans to finish off all Thar 700 units prior to the July 1, 2019 deadline, after which the safety features will turn mandatory in India. The second generation Thar is expected to make its debut at the Auto Expo 2020. Next Gen Scorpio too is expected to be unveiled next year.

Bookings for the 4X4 off-roader Thar 700 can be made at any authorized dealerships across India or online at
