City facelift 2019

Expected Launch : July 2019

Trending car news Honda India has added more safety features to its best-selling sedan City, keeping its price unchanged. Honda city now comes with a front passenger seatbelt reminder and a speed alarm.

Apparently, the Honda City cars manufactured after 29th May 2019 are equipped with this new set of features. The new speed alarm that has been fitted on these units are equipped to alert drivers with a beep tone when the car reaches a speed of 80kmph on the gauge. The meter also beeps continuously when the car touches 120kmph. This is a very important feature since the Indian roads or the traffic here; do not complement high speed driving.

The safety additions have been provided by Honda on this model as per the mandate norms issued by the Govt. The norms require all vehicles manufactured after 1st July 2019 to be equipped with these safety features, along with a standard driver airbag and ABS. All variants of the Honda City sedan come with standard dual airbags and ABS already.

Since the year 1998 when the car was launched in India for the first time, Honda City has managed to remain the most successful car from the brand. This model is powered by a 119hp 1.5-litre petrol engine, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission unit. The fuel efficiency figures of Honda City is claimed to be 17.8kmpl.

The mainstream competitors of the City sedan are Maruti Suzuki Ciaz , Toyota Yaris , Hyundai Verna , Volkswagen Vento , and Skoda Rapid .
